60 Second Interview: Joselo Sostre

Posted

Joselo is a Ground Safety Program Manager our Safety, Security and Environmental (SSE) team. Joselo ensures that airports across the system are keeping our customers, employees and aircraft safe.

What is the best advice you’ve received?

Remember that happiness is a choice…everything else is perspective.

What do you enjoy about your current role?

I’m very passionate about what I do. Injuries are an unfortunate part of life, and my job is to ensure that those injuries at work are mitigated.  I treat all employees like my own family so they can go home and enjoy theirs. I enjoy being able to have a voice in the decisions that help keep Envoy safe. Sometimes the decisions that have to be made are not popular, but at the end of the day, I can go to bed knowing that my influence may have saved someone’s life that day.

What does diversity mean to you?

Diversity is being able to embrace your identity while enriching yourself through experiences with people of other backgrounds.

What might people not know about you?

I’m a Civil Engineer,  I graduated with a 4.0 GPA, I play the piano and 5 other string instruments, I sang opera with Opera de Puerto Rico for 3 years, I am a stage entertainer, a Doctor Who fan, and the best friend you’ll ever have.
