60-Second Interview: Javier Torres

As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re highlighting some amazing folk at Envoy who identify as Hispanic and contribute to our airline’s success. In this installment, we meet with Javier Torres, who is an Envoy Fleet Service Clerk at Miami International Airport (MIA), to learn more about his role at Envoy and what Hispanic pride means to him.

What is your Envoy story?

I’ve been with Envoy for eight years as a Fleet Service Clerk on the ramp in MIA. I perform a lot of duties, like loading and marshalling planes, but my main goal is to ensure everyone’s safety.

What’s the significance of National Hispanic Heritage Month to you?

To me, Hispanic heritage means work, tradition, and sacrifice. My favorite historical figure is Simon Bolivar for inspiring independence in Central and South America.

Who has inspired you in your life?

My father is a great example for me to follow, and I feel lucky to have him by my side.

Tell us one surprising fact about yourself that others may not know.

My outgoing personality.
